Daughter of Salve Alfson and Taarand Tallaksdtr, christened 18 Aug 1850 as Gunvor Christina Salvesdatter.

Julia (her Americanized name)and her family left Bygland, Sweden in April 1861, and arrived (via Port of Quebec) June 1861, to Manitowac, Wisconsin.
She married Samuel (Swen) Bloom, 23 Oct 1869 Manitowac, WI.

Mother of Martin, Hansona (1st child born in Hanson Co), Selma, John, Pearl, Tena, Martha, Frank, Bertha Bloom.

She and her husband, were not only the 1st permanent settlers in Hanson County, and also had the 1st child born, Hansona Bloom.
