Funeral services for Juanita Vera Bolinger, 90, Atwood, are 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009, at Free Will Baptist Church in Calvin with Jim Lawrence and Lloyd Cross officiating. Burial follows at Blue Ridge Cemetery, near Calvin. Juanita Vera Young Bolinger was born Jan. 25, 1919, south of Calvin to Andrew Clayton and Rosie Lee DeShazo Young. She died Sunday, Dec. 20, 2009, in Holdenville. Mrs. Bolinger was a lifelong resident of Hughes County and a member of Free Will Baptist Church in Calvin. She attended school at Stoney Point in Gerty. She is preceded in death by her husbands, Gordon Palmer, William "Bill" Hanks and Robert Bolinger. Survivors are her children, Victor Paul Palmer and wife, Jackie, of Kingston, Linda Foster and husband, Frank, of Calvin, Winston Hanks of Atwood, Alyene Hanks of San Antonio, Texas, Jolene Pearce Esio and husband David of Ada; one sister, Wanda Parks of Atwood; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Preceding Mrs. Bolinger in death were two sons, Wayne Palmer and Robert Bolinger Jr; one son-in-law, Jim Pearce; a sister, Velva Allred; and two brothers, A.C. and Oscar Young, two half-sisters, Gertrude Nose and Lillie Sesson. Bearers are Carl Collard, Kenneth Vandeveer, Don Sims, Larry Dotson, Wayne Reed, Gene Pickett and Buddy Britt. Honorary bearers are Bill Gillian, Greg Gillian, Buddy Thompson, Glen Lively and Steve Morris. Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home, Holdenville.
