Ellie is the daughter of Nathen Edward & Margaret Ann (Barnett) Caudle.

She was born a twin with brother William Elzie Caudle. They were born at home on June 30, 1891 with him passing on July 14, 1891.

She lived all of her life on her parents farm in Norwood, Wright, Missouri, until the time of her marriage.

Janurary 16, 1911 she married Alvin James Frisk of Mountain Grove, Wright, Missouri, and they moved to Woodbine,Dickenson, Kansas where he already had a house set up for them. Four children were born unto this union. December 14th of that same year she gave birth to Ray Edward, June of 1913 she had her daughter Hazel Nellie, May 1915 she had Vera Ellen, and on Feb. 1916 she had Grace Margaret, contacting Childbed Fever dying 23 days later at the young age of 25.

She was survived by her 4 children, husband, Dad, Grandfather, Mother-in-law, 4 sisters and one brother. Two sisters, her twin and her mother preceded her in death.

We have often wondered why Grandpa didn't take her home to be in the Caudle Family Cemetery or one of the others in the Norwood area (Missouri) where she was born, and why the large stone and with her name being so low. Took a DUH moment to notice it's so his could be added above hers. He never planned or expected to leave the area, nor not raise his children. They had cousins families, and a couple of his brother's and their families (one of her sisters had married his brother that lived there) in the area as well. Ended up they all left for California in late 20's early 30's. His children didn't know he had/has(?) a burial plot there, so he is in the Swedish Cemetery in Mountain Grove, Missouri, where he was born. So she is here without any of her family near.

Her parents, husband and all of her children are linked to her on this memorial.

Your tombstone stands among the rest;
Neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished, marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist
you died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spread out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.

We are not sure about the Ella on the stone. She went by Ellie with family. Maybe that is what our grandfather called her.
