Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Jan. 19 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Lometa with interment at Senterfitt Cemetery at Lometa.
Mrs. Cantu was born July 25, 1925, in Lampasas County, the daughter of Braublio and Ignacia Salas Ruiz.
She married Francisco Cantu on Sept. 16, 1939, in Lometa.
Mrs. Cantu enjoyed cooking.
She is survived by four sons, Librado Cantu, of Fort Worth, Fidel Cantu, of Brownwood, and Paul Cantu and Eddie Cantu, both of Lometa; eight daughters, Adela Perez, Margie Vasquez, Sofie Sosa and Benita Cantu, all of Lometa, Frances Cantu Garza and Julie Gonzales, of Early, Tommie Cantu, of Corpus Christi, and Corina Kopp, of Brownwood; two brothers; two sisters; 29 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1997, and by two brothers.
