Jean S. Brenner of Langhorne, PA, died on Monday, Dec. 7, 2009, two days before her 91st birthday, at St. Mary Medical Center.

She was the beloved wife for 58 years to the late Charles H. Brenner, who died two days after her on Dec. 11, 2009.

Born in Meshoppen, PA, she was the daughter of the late T. Lewis and Bessie Stroud Sturdevant.

Jean grew up in Bradford County, PA, graduated from Wyalusing Valley High School and went on to West Chester University, where she received her undergraduate degree, and the University of Pennsylvania, where she received her master's degree in education.

After her marriage, she and Charles moved to Ewing, NJ, where they lived for 49 years until 2000, when they moved to Attleboro Retirement Village, Langhorne, PA.

Jean was a preschool and nursery teacher at Morrisville Presbyterian Church, and was a volunteer with many organizations, including the Lawrenceville Rehabilitation Center, the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen and the Red Cross of Trenton, to which she was devoted for over 25 years. Additionally, Jean was a longtime, active member of the Ewing, NJ, Presbyterian Church.

In her free time, she enjoyed vacationing in Vermont, playing golf with her husband and spending time with her nieces and nephews.

Sister of the late Wilson Sturdevant and his wife, Hilda Sturdevant, she is survived by 13 nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009, at the Brunswick at Attleboro, 310 E. Winchester Ave., Langhorne, PA 19047. Interment will be held privately in the near future at the Washington Crossing National Veterans Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Newtown Presbyterian Church, Washington Avenue & Chancellor Street, Newtown, PA 18940. Arrangements are by Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, Richboro, PA
