Sign at the Ashley Blvd gate. Per the City of New Bedford Official website, Pine Grove was opened in the late 1890's and is the burial site of many World War #1 Veterans in its World War I Veterans Plot. This is the smallest of the city-owned and operated cemeteries, as it comprises of only about 50 acres.
