Mary Lily (Anderson) Hines, age 96 of Mountain View passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Mountain Home.

Mrs. Hines was born in Newnata to William and Mellie (Richardson) Anderson on August 8, 1913.

She was married to Ernest Hines in 1938.

She spent several years in the upholstery business near Newnata. She trained at least five local ladies and they had customers from Akransas and surrounding states because of their beautiful work. She was a talented, loving Christian lady.

She loved going to church and singing alto. She cooked many wonderful, delicious meals for the pot-lucks from her meager kitchen. She fed anyone who came by. She was a member of Foothills Baptist Church. She had many friends and loved ones and will be missed by all.

Mary is survived by two daughters: Jean Redford and Ernestine Gulley of Mountain View; two nephews Bill Anderson and Ivan Anderson of Newnata. There are six grandchildren; Deanna Younger of Carlsbad, NM, David Barnes of Yellville, Ark., Lisa Davis of Bergman, Ark., Melissa Schubert of Timbo, Ark., Johnny Gulley of Pine Bluff, Ark. and Denver Gulley of Mtn. Home, Ark. She also had fifteen great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren and numerous friends and relatives. She was a devoted wife and mother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and brother Floyd Anderson

Funeral service were at Timbo Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, Timbo with Bro. Ludene Hudspeth and Bro. Junior Barham officiating and interment was in Big Springs Cemetery, Newnata, Arkansas.
