Mrs. Dorothy E. (Koons) Blubaugh, 86, a resident Quincy United Methodist Home, Quincy, PA and formerly of 8036 Mentzer Gap Road, Waynesboro, PA, died at 1:21 P.M., Friday, December 5, 2008 in the emergency room of Waynesboro Hospital. Her death was sudden and unexpected.
Born June 10, 1922 in Washington Township, Franklin County, PA, she was the daughter of the late Frank B. and Nellie Beulah (Snively) Koons.
She and her husband, the late Mr. Max Blubaugh, were married February 5, 1960 in Smithsburg, MD. He died October 3, 1998. She entered the nursing home October 8, 2008.
Mrs. Blubaugh was a homemaker.
She is survived by one daughter, Mary J. Blubaugh of Waynesboro; two step-sons, Donald A. Blubaugh of Walnut Creek, CA and M. Robert Blubaugh of Waynesboro; 9 step-grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Gladys Poff of Waynesboro; two brothers, Frank Koons of Waynesboro and Robert Koons of Greencastle; PA; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a step-grandson, Tom Blubaugh; two sisters, Virginia Moore and Mildred Benedict; three brothers, Theron J. Koons, Sr., Homer Koons, Ralph Koons; and an infant brother.
Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, December 9, 2008 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 South Broad Street, Waynesboro. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
