Peggy "Jeanie" Aday, age 87, of Waxahachie, passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Baylor Medical Center, Waxahachie.

She was born at home in the Cobb Community in Haskell County, Texas on March 20, 1926 to Walter V. and Mary Altus (Wright) Cobb. Jeanie graduated from Lueders High School in Leuders, TX in 1943 and attended Abilene Christian College. She married R. E. "Buck" Aday on December 29, 1946. She worked in the dentist office of Dr. Robert Cox for over 28 years until her retirement. Jeanie was a longtime member of the Brown Street Church of Christ. She was a very devoted Christian and was a volunteer for the church-sponsored meal program. She was from the generation that was all about family, and she was the rock of her family that helped hold them together after the death of her husband in 1972. She loved to cook and spend time with her family and extended family, planning Cobb family reunions where more than 100 people would attend every year for 25 years. Jeanie was a member of the Citizens National Bank Travel Club and loved traveling around the world. She enjoyed exercising and would walk 2 to 3 miles a day.

Survivors include two sons, Robert "Bob" Aday and wife Debbie of Waxahachie and John Allen Aday of Houston; one daughter, Janie Aday Frates and husband Dale of Tulsa, OK; grandchildren, Von Aday, Courtney Howard and husband Matt, Alaina Aday and Cliff Frates; great grandchildren, Cooper Howard and Hadley Howard; one brother, R. C. "Clif" Cobb; one sister, Mary Latimer and husband Wayne and numerous nieces and nephews. Jeanie was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Mary Altus Cobb and her husband, R. E. "Buck" Aday.

Visitation for family and friends will be 2 to 4PM Saturday, December 14, 2013 at the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 2PM Sunday, December 15, 2013 at the Brown Street Church of Christ with Mr. Walter Buchanan officiating. Interment will follow at the Sardis Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Cliff Frates, Von Aday, Don Cobb, Don Wilson, Dale Frates and Ronnie Gillespie.
