SOUTH BEND - Bernice I. Draper, 93, of South Bend, IN, passed away at 5:45 p.m., Wednesday, December 2, 2009, in Mitchell's Country Care. Bernice was born on March 10, 1916 in Marion, IN, to Noah and Nellie McPherson. She had lived in South Bend since 1941, coming from Marion, IN. Bernice had been employed with Fannie May Candies for several years. On December 25, 1936, in Marion, IN, as Bernice I. McPherson, she married Rex R. Draper, who preceded her in death in December 1985. Also preceding her in death were one son, Reginald Draper in August 1970; one granddaughter, Kris Ann Draper in November 1970; four sisters and one brother. Survivors include her son, Larry (Faye) Draper of South Bend, IN; one granddaughter, Cindy (Matt) Holderbaum of South Bend, IN; four grandchildren, Amber, Ashley, Andrew, and Alex Holderbaum; two nieces, Judy Himes and Debbie (Rich) Annis both of Mishawaka, IN; and her caregivers, Dave and Dorothy Mitchell of Mitchell's Country Care.

Bernice was a member of Community Baptist Church.
