The entire community was shocked and saddened Thursday morning to learn that Mrs. Arthur Dierwechter had passed away during the night. Ellen Dierwechter was taken sick Wednesday, July 20. She rallied and was better on Sunday, but Monday noon pneumonia set in and the end came Wednesday night, July 27, just before midnight.

Funeral services were held from the home Saturday morning, July 30, at 10 o'clock, conducted by Rev. T. A. Ambler of Early. The funeral was largely attended and the floral offerings were many and beautiful.

The Witter Brothers quartet sang two selections during the services.

Interment was in the Storm Lake cemetery.

Nellie Connor was born February 10, 1894, at Decorah, Iowa, where she grew to young womanhood, graduating from the Decorah high school, after which she attended the normal school at Cedar Falls.
