"Mrs. Grace Ray entertained at her home, 511 Walnut street, in honor of Miss Cynthia Wing and Miss Mae Imboden on Saturday evening, July 12. The rooms were beautifully decorated with carnations and ferns. Music was furnished by the noted violinist, Miss Chloe Hoak, and Miss Cynthia Wing, Miss Mae Imboden and Miss Hertha O'Neil gave several selections on the piano.

Mrs. Cecil Sparks assisted the hostess in receiving the guests. A three-course dinner was served at 12:00 o'clock. Those invited were: Mrs. and Mrs. Hoak, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Browning, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Sparks, Mr. and Mrs. Ray, Miss Chloe Hoak, Miss Hertha O'Neil, Miss Cinthia Wing, Miss Mae Imboden, Mr. Frost , Mr. Alva Romis, Mr. Leland Catermole and Mr. Phil Martin."

"Grayce M. Ray VS Ira Ray, divorce. The complaint charges defendant with having a violent temper, and that he cursed and reviled her. They were married at Toledo June 5, 1901. There are two children, a married daughter and a son, 17 years old. Property settlement has been made."

Evidently they settled their differences and were back together by the time the following census was taken.

ON JANUARY 5-7, 1920,
Ira J. & Grayce M., ages 39 & 34, were living on South Gold Street in Centralia, where they owned a home & hardware store. Their children were Neva & William Lee, ages 16 & 10. Two young boarder lived with them: George & Effie Hall, ages 10 & 9.

On April 2, 1930, Ira J. Ray, age 50, shown widowed, owned a home Pearl St. valued at $6000. He was working as a retail merchant in a hardware store. He was living in Centralia in 1935.

However, Grayce was still alive!
