He was born as Francis James Moran in Grafton, W. Va., on Oct. 10, 1918.
He was preceded in death by his beloved "Ree," Marie Moran, his wife of 43 wonderful years.
Frank was an Oak Ridge resident since 1952 and worked for almost 30 years at K-25 as a chemical engineer, retiring in 1981. Mr. Moran was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Oak Ridge.
Frank is survived by his son, Bob and his wife, Booty of Charlotte, N.C.; two grandchildren, Christy Thomas and her husband, Jim Thomas of Nashville, and Graham Chandler of Charlotte; three beautiful great-grandchildren, Taylor Thomas, Kelsey Thomas, and Jimmy Thomas all of Nashville; and two brothers, Bill Moran of Newark, Del., and John Moran of Morehead City, N.C.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2005, at 2 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary. Burial will follow the funeral service at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memorial and Honor Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
The family will receive friends Tuesday at the mortuary from 1 to 2 p.m.
