Anna was the 2nd wife of Jacob Bach and the mother of seven children. She was born in Körprich, Nalbach, LK Saarlouis, Saarland, Germany in 1840; the family moved to the United States in April of 1884. It must have been a real challenge, as the youngest, Jacob, was only two at the time and the next youngest, Nicholas, was four years old and deaf and dumb! The family settled in Avoca, Minnesota, a town named after a river in Ireland and founded as a settlement mainly for Irish Catholics. The farm was a little east of town according to land records I have seen. Anna died on January 13th 1907 of pnuemonia, in Avoca, Minnesota, according to her death record.
