Mrs Josie Chase, the oldest resident of Avon, aged 97 years, died Monday night in her home in Avon from senility. Born Aug. 15, 1838 has outlived all relatives except a niece, Miss Ellice Black, a teacher at Mary Allen West school in Galesburg.
The funeral will be Wednesday from the home. Rev. W. J. Armsd (sic) in charge. Burial Avon Cemetery.
