Mrs. Beatrice "Bea Bea" Davis, age 82, passed peacefully away on November 10th after a brief illness at the Ogeechee Area Hospice. She was a Bulloch County native and a member of St. Mary United Methodist Church of Brooklet, Ga., where she served as church treasurer until her health failed. She is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur "Bubba" Davis.
She is survived by a special friend, Mr. L.D. Hill of Statesboro, Ga.; three daughters, Ms. Robbie Shirley of Bridgeport, Conn., Ms. Catherine Joyce of Villa Rica, Ga., Ms. Earline "Linda" Davis of Riverdale, Ga.; one son, Mr. Frank Davis of Atlanta, Ga.; one sister, Mrs. Mary Helen Smith of Savannah, Ga.; one brother, Mr. Herbert Smith Jr. of Sylvania, Ga.; eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 17, 2009, at 1 p.m. at Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home, Statesboro Chapel, with the Rev. Craig R. Tremble, eulogist. Entombment will be held at Bulloch Memorial Gardens, Statesboro, Ga.
The body will lie-in-state from noon until the funeral hour. There will be no viewing after the eulogy.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that donations be made to the Beatrice Davis Trust Fund at Wachovia Bank to continue her effort to pay for cable for nursing home residents.
Visitation will be held Monday, November 16, 2009, from 1-8 p.m. at Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home.
