Mrs. Stortroen, Climax Resident, Dies Today
Mrs. Knute Stortroen, 74, a lifelong resident of the Climax area, died early this morning at a Crookston hospital. She had been in poor health for the past two years.
The former Hilda Berg was born June 11, 1889 near Climax. She was married to Knute Stortroen on April 10, 1917. She was a member of Sand Hill Lutheran Church and a charter member of the Ladies Aid.
Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Donald (Helen) Prudhomme of Crookston; three sons, Sidney of Crookston, Loran and Arvid, of Climax; 17 grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Karine Thune, Mrs. Emma Thompson, of Crookston and Mrs. Helmer (Hannah) Bangen of Climax. She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. from the Sand Hill Lutheran Church with the Rev. Norman C. Anderson officiating. Burial will be in church cemetery.
The body may be viewed Thursday afternoon and evening at the Stenshoel Chapel and at the church Friday one hour before services.
