Lawrence helped build the Bell Telephone building in St. Louis, Missouri when he was a young man. His job was to rivet steel. He later worked for Fischer Body and General Motors, before taking a job as a molder in a steel foundry in Granite City, Madison County, Illinois.
In his later years, Lawrence worked in an upholstery shop with his brother. Lawrence retired in 1969 and passed away in 1977.
Vica lived until 1997. She died the day before the 20th anniversary of her husband's death.
Vica was 87 years, 10 months and 11 days old. She was buried next to her husband, Lawrence.
