Rites at St. Petri
Thursday for
Mrs. J. Albertson
Mrs. Julius E. (Bertha) Albertson, resident of the Gary area all her life, passed away at her home there Saturday morning, June 25th, at the age of 81 years. Mrs. Albertson had been active up to the time of her death.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in St. Petri Lutheran church east of Gary, with the Rev. Duane Thompson officiating. Vocal soloist will be Mrs. Duane Thompson, with Mrs. Selmer Gullingsrud, organist.
Pallbearers will be six nephews, Orville Flaaten, Morris Ysen, Lloyd Toftner, Berthold Flaaten, Milton Aasguard, and Sanford Albertson. Interment will be made in St. Petri Lutheran cemetery.
A family service will be held in Erlien Funeral Chapel at Twin Valley this evening, Wednesday, at 8:30 o'clock.
Bertha Patrina Ysen was born Nov. 1, 1884, in Strand Township, the daughter of Martin and Gina Ysen.
She was united in marriage to Julius E. Albertson July 7, 1917, in St. Petri Lutheran church. They resided on a farm in Strand Township until retiring and moving in to Gary in 1949.
She was a life-long member of St. Petri Lutheran church, had been very active in the ALCW and had been conferred a Life Member of that organization. Last member of her family, she taught Sunday School and sang in the church choir. Her hobby was gardening and raising flowers.
Mrs. Albertson is survived by her husband, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters, and her parents.
