Born in Runau, Posen, Prussia and immigrated to Wisconsin with wife Henriette and children Friederick, Johan Christoph, and Michael. Children Amelia, Bertha and Wilhelmine were born while they were in the Ripon and Green Lake, Wisconsin area. After about 5 years in Wisconsin, the family moved to Olmsted County, Minnesota. Michael divorced, married Amelia Gnieser and they had children Edward, Emma and Henry. Michael left Minnesota, went to the Dakotas, and on to ten miles northwest of Harrington, Washington. He died in the Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane, Washington.
