Nicholas Walch Dead
Aged Gardener Had Resided in 17th Ward 43 Years
Ills attending old age resulted in the death of Nicholas Walch, an aged gardener, who for 50 years followed his vocation in Detroit. Death came early today after a short illness. He came to the city from the grand duchy of Luxembourg in 1851, and resided on Gratiot Avenue in seventeenth ward for 43 years, later moving to 1251 Parker avenue.
Services will be held at Saint Anthony's church, Friday morning at 9:30 o'clock and burial will be in Mt. Olivet.
Surviving children are Misses Elizabeth, Margaret and Evelyn Walch; Joseph, George L. and Peter Walch, and Mrs.. Mary Kaufmann, Mrs.. Katherine Peters, and Mrs. Esther Kemp.
