He was a graduate of Reardan High School. He worked at Coulee Dam during the time the dam was being constructed. For a time he served as a Mobile Home Park manager. His last position was that of elementary school custodian. He and his wife came to Davenport from Vista, CA, in September. He underwent surgery in Spokane on Sept 28. He passed away at the local hospital on Nov 17 at 12:30 a.m. Burial was at the Spring Creek Cemetery north of Reardan. Pastor M A P Keller of Zion Lutheran church had charge of the funeral services. Survivors include: His wife Clara, his parents, Mr and Mrs William Childs, one brother, Leonard of Davenport, and many other friends and relatives. (Davenport Times: 11-24-1966)
