Funeral services for E. Carolyn Mundell Gander, 55, of 9330 S. 62nd E., a resident of rural Newton for 23 years, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 25, at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home.

The Rev. Jerry Ebelsizer of Toledo will conduct services.

Cremation will follow funeral services.

Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday and from 8 a.m. Friday until time of services. Visitation with the family will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday.

Memorials to Alzheimer's research will be accepted.

Survivors are her husband, Delbert; two sons, Steven of Cannon Air Force Base, N.M., and Richard of Pella; a daughter, Carla Gander of Newton; a granddaughter; two brothers, Melvin Mundell of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Robert Mundell of Germany; and three sisters, Marie Chang of Las Vegas, Nev., Ramona Smith of Lisbon, Ohio, and Janice Kay Healey of Bedford Hills, N.Y.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

Mrs. Gander, a homemaker, had worked at Doctors Service Bureau and American Abstract in Des Moines.

The daughter of Jan and Maxine Bass Mundell, she was born Sept. 9, 1939 in Caldwell, Idaho, and was graduated from Colo Community High School.

She was married to Delbert E. Gander Sept. 12, 1965 in Altoona. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, November 1994.
