Clergyman born in Rappahannock, Virginia in 1828. Entered the ministry of the Methodist Episcopal Church in 1850. In 1865 entered the Protestant Episcopal Church. He was Rector of various churches in Virginia, Kentucky and Pennsylvania. His last Rectorship was that of St. John's Church, Norristown, Pennsylvania which continued more than 26 years. He resigned in December 1898 and was appointed Rector Emeritus in which capacity he was still active in church work.
