Mrs. Sherman Bliss
-----------------
Family and friends were shocked Saturday morning when it was learned that Mrs. Sherman Bliss had pass from Tine to Eternity while she slept. She had been sick for about two weeks but it was not realized that her condition was so serious. Death was probably the result of a heart attack.

Mary Ann O'Brien, daughter of Edward and Mary Jane O'Brien, was born in Rock Island County, Illinois, June 2, 1867. She was married to Sherman Bliss at Muscatine, Iowa, March 28, 1888. One child, a daughter, was born to them. The family lived in Iowa for four years, then moved to this vicinity and for the past fifteen years have lived in Buda.

At the age of 18 she united with the Baptist church in her home community, later transferring her membership to the Methodist church of Buda to be with her daughter who had joined that denomination. Mrs. Bliss was also a member of the Eastern Star, Woman's Relief Corps, Royal Neighbors and Woman's Club. She was a kind friend and good neighbor and as daughter, wife, and mother she faithfully and lovingly fulfilled every obligation.

At the time of her death July 23, 1932, Mrs. Bliss was 65 years, 1 month, and 21 days of age.

For the last four years she has cared for her aged mother in connection with her home duties. She leaves to mourn her departure her aged mother, her husband and one daughter, Mrs. Janie Stone of Wheaton Illinois, Mr. Eugene Petty of Flagler Colorado., who lived with the Blisses from young manhood until he was 21, and one sister, besides many other relatives and friends.

Out of town attendants at the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Schroder and Mrs. Leslie Gray of Tiskilwa, Mrs. B. B. Stodghell of Indianapolis, Indiana, Mr. And Mrs. Emory Bliss of Towanda, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Stone and Mrs. Milas Stone of Sheffield, F. E. Bliss and Mrs. H. A. Whitehead of Des Moines.

Funeral services were held in the Methodist church Monday afternoon with Rev. O. H. Meyers
in charge. Appropriate musical selections were given by Mrs. Popp, Mrs. Crisman, Fred
Strattan and John Levere. There were many beautiful floral offerings. Groups from the Eastern
Star and Woman's Relief Corps of Buda and Royal Neighbors of Sheffield represented these organizations at the funeral.

Burial was in Hopeland cemetery.
