Fort Myers News-Press, 2000-01-12-- Martin J. "Marty" Baer Sr., 73, of Fort Myers, FL, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2000 in Fort Myers. He was born in New York City, NY and has lived in this area since 1967 coming from Miami, FL. He held various positions in the accounting construction field in the Miami area. He became the cost accountant for GAC in 1968 to 1975. GAC was the leading home builder for Cape Coral. In 1976 he went to work for the City of Cape Coral and was the chief building inspector till 1989. He joined the Moose Lodge #2199 in Cape Coral in 1969, he held in the Fellowship Degree, and served as secretary for many years. A WWII veteran, Marty earned the European Theatre campaign ribbons with the 9th Air Corps. He is survived by his wife of 22 years Anna (Jan), and a son Marty J. Baer, Jr. of Fort Myers. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 13, at 3:00 p.m. at the Coral Ridge Funeral Home, interment to follow.
