From the Woodford Heritage News, Vol. 25, Issue No. 1.
The Woodford County Historical Society recently received two historic portraits of former Woodford County residents. It is believed the portraits were done about 1850. The portraits are of Dudley Mitchum Woolfolk and his wife Sallie Bowman Woolfolk. Dudley was born in Woodford County in 1818 and by 1850 he and Sallie had settled in Yazoo City, Mississippi. He later died there in 1861 and was buried in the Lexington Cemetery. Sallie died... in April of 1865... on a return voyage from New Orleans on the steamboat Sultana. Dudley Mitchum Woolfolk and Sallie Bowman Woolfolk were first cousins, and although they never had any children, their portraits were handed down through the family.
