VINTON -- Funeral services for P.M. Tally Babineaux, 80, will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 29, from St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Rev. Charles Soileau will officiate. Burial will be in Big Woods Cemetery in Edgerly under direction of Hixson Funeral Home. Visitation is from 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Sunday with a rosary at 7:30 p.m.; and from 8:30 a.m. Monday.

Mr. Babineaux died Friday, Dec. 26, 1997, in the Sulphur hospital. A native of Big Lake, he lived most of his life in the Lake Charles area. He served in the Army Air Corp in World War II and he was stationed at the Azore Island. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a lifelong member of the American Legion Post 208, both in Vinton. He was a member of the VFW Post 2130 and Bon Ami Club Chapter 3, both in Lake Charles. He retired as a welder with Texas Gas Transmission Corp. after 30 years of service.

Survivors include his wife, Edith Babineaux; two sons, Cliffton Babineaux of Lake Charles and Rony Babineaux of Tomball, Texas; two stepsons, Richard and Jerry Perry, both of Vinton; two daughters, Theresa Babineaux of Wichita Falls, Texas and Betty Bailey of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two brothers, B.P. Babineaux of Lake Charles and Joseph Babineaux of Sweetlake; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
