Tyrus Barber was a professional baseball player during the years, 1915-1923. His Major League Baseball debut game was with the Washington Senators on Aug.19,1915. He was with the Chicago Cubs from 1917 through 1922. He participated in the 1918 World Series against the Boston Red Sox, in which the Cubs were defeated. The winning pitcher of Game 1 of the series, was Babe Ruth, who pitched a shutout. Tyrus' final M.L.B. game was April 30, 1923 with the Brooklyn Robins. He attended Union University in Jackson Tennessee. He was married to Effie Browning. He died in Milan Tennessee at age 75.
