SHEFFIELD Beverly L. Emmerson, 62, of Sheffield, died at 2:30 AM, Monday, October 12, 2009 at her home, after fighting a long and courageous battle with cancer for over 15 years.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Thursday, October 15 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Sheffield. Celebrant will be Rev. Jerry Logan. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM, Wednesday, October 14 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Sheffield. Memorials may be directed to the Beverly Emmerson Memorial Fund.
Beverly was born March 10, 1947 in Kewanee, the daughter of Virgil and Lucille (Bowyer) Brown. She married Roger C. Emmerson Jr. on October 12, 1968 in Sheffield. He survives, as do two sons, Bruce (Anne) Emmerson of Hartford, WI and Brian (Cami) Emmerson of Ohio, IL, a daughter, Lori Emmerson and fiancé, Bob Ziolkowski of West Bend, WI and five grandchildren, Bret and Austin Emmerson, Christopher and Miranda Brockman and Dana Emmerson. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Barbara Bass.
She graduated from Kewanee High School in 1966. She had worked at Barco Overdoor Company and as a cook at various restaurants. She had also worked at Wal-mart in Princeton for 10 years and lastly at Wal-Mart in Kewanee for 5 years. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Sheffield. Her hobbies included reading and she had been a Cub Scout Den Leader. She thoroughly enjoyed her family and grandchildren and dotting about their successes. She inspired all around her, despite her own illness.
