Mr. Gayton was preceded in death by his parents, Silas and Alma Gayton. He will be dearly missed by his wife of over 54 years, Hazel Gayton; brother, Harley Gayton; sisters, Peggy Allen and Joann King; children, Dr. Johnny Gayton, Brenda Gayton, and Marty Gayton; eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. -Mr. Gayton served his country as a member of the United States Army. He retired from work at Eyesight Associates earlier this year. He was a lay Baptist Minister for fifty years and loved gospel music. Recording an album with the members of Bill Monroe's Bluegrass Boys was one of the highlights of his life. Mr. Gayton was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and loved by many.
