Argenta, Ill., June 13.—Mrs. Samuel Gerber died at her home In Argenta this morning at 9 o'clock. She had been
sick for some time but her condition was not considered serious until Friday.
Susanna Hillbrant was married to Samuel Gerber December 14, 1856, in Ohio. They rode horseback to a justice
of the peace who performed the ceremony. In 1859 they came to Illinois overland In a wagon and settled on a
farm near where the village of Oreana Is now located. In 1882 they moved, to Argenta. She had been a most faithful
help meet and had a large share In the accumulation of their fortune. She had been a prominent member
of the Cumberland Presbyterian church for many years. December 14, 1906, Mr. and Mrs. Gerber celebrated
their golden wedding anniversary at their home in Argenta.
Mrs. Gerber Is survived by her husband, Samuel Gerber and three children. They are Mrs. C. S. Hankins, of Decatur; P. E. Gerber, of Argenta, and Mrs. Lizzie Bennett, also of Argenta. Mrs. Hankins has been at her mother's bedside since Sunday.
