Iva had rheumatic fever when she was a child, and became crippled and confined to a wheelchair most of her life. Her mother "Aunt Laura" took care of her with the help of others at the family home in Warren Center, Bradford county, Pa. Obituary from The Daily Review newspaper dated June 10, 1992 lists Iva L. Allyn, age 57, of Warren Center passed away on Monday, June 8, 1992, at the Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, Pa. She was born on March 3, 1935, in Towanda, a daughter of Laura (Brainard) Allyn and the late Merton Allyn. In her early years, she received her schooling at Elizabethtown Children's Hospital. She later attended and graduated from LeRaysville High School. Iva was a member of the Warren Center United Methodist Church and enjoyed many different arts and crafts, as well as visiting with her friends and playing games with her cousins. She is survived by her mother, Laura Allyn, at home; her brother and sister-in-law, Elwyn and Ellie Allyn of Aurora, Colorado; a nephew, Joseph Allyn; and three nieces, Laurie and Becky Allyn and Debbie Cameron and her husband, Mark. Many aunts, uncles and cousins also survive. The funeral service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m., at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, Nichols, with Rev. C. Earle Cowden, her former pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Warren Center Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7-9 p.m. at the chapel.
