Kelly Marín, age 32, of Lake City, MN died September 30, 2009, at her home following a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born June 2, 1977 in Minneapolis, MN to James and Patricia Schuller. When she was a year old, the family moved to Worthington, MN where she grew up and attended the public schools, graduating in 1995. She attended Minnesota West Community College, studied a year in Spain, and completed her degree at Mankato State University.
Kelly's love of travel took her to Costa Rica where she took Spanish classes along with being employed. While there, she met her husband, Ebert. They were married August 25, 2001.
Kelly began her teaching career in Lake City the fall of 2002. Teaching Spanish and traveling to Spain and Costa Rica with her students was her passion.
In July, 2005 Kelly was diagnosed with breast cancer. She completed treatment along with teaching and attending classes to complete her Masters Degree. In February, 2009 it was discovered that the cancer had metastasized.
Kelly enjoyed doing and teaching Yoga, traveling abroad, snowboarding, flower gardening, and vacationing with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Ebert, Lake City; her parents James and Patricia Schuller, Milford, IA; one sister, Jill (Micah) Hayes, Arvada, CO; her mother-in-law, Dora Marín Matamoros , sister-in-law, Diria Marín Marín (Pablo), nephew, Pablo Salazar Marín, and niece, Dayanna Salazar Marín all of Costa Rica; her godson, Isaac Peters, Omaha, NE; her grandfather, Al Schuller, Arnolds Park, IA and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday October4, 2009 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Lake City. Burial will be in Bethany Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 3 to 7 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home Anderson-Peterson Chapel Lake City. Pallbearers are Becky Sievers, Jen Swanson, Greg Berg, Phil Olson, Colin Atkinson, Shawn Sweeney, Stew Talbert, Jim Heise.
