Gasil Farmakes, beloved mother,grandmother and friend died Sept 20, 2009, in her residence.

Gail was born April 4, 1928, in Superior, to Harry and Isabel (Christiansen) Nelson. She was a graduate of Superior East High School and Wisconsin State College. She taught elementary grades in St Paul in 1951, Duluth 1951-1952 and at Superior's Bryant School from 1959-1979.

Gail was a member of Superior Retired Teachers, Aad Shrine Honored Ladies and the Red Hat Society. She will be missed by all that knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband James Farmakes in 1982.

Gail is survived by her son Randall (Debra) Skowlund, Superior; grandson Curtis (Jill) Skowlund, Cloquet; great-grandchildren, Annbelle and A J Skowlund; stepson Jeffrey Farmakes and his son Andrew and daughter Amanda of Minneapolis; and stepdaughter Jaime (David) Langford and son Joshua and daughter Alisha of Batavia, IL.
