William Newton Brewer, 80 Union St Florence died at 5 p.m. Thursday at ECM Hospital following a five months illness.

A retired farmer, a member of Sherrod Avenue Church of Christ, and a resident of Lauderdale County.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. from Morrison Elkins Chapel with Rev Ben and Lamar Plunkett officiating. Burial will follow in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens. The living is the widow Mrs. Haddock Brewer, six sons Thomas N., Laymon Lee, and James Brewer all of Florence, Emmett, Jackson, MS., Homer Brewer, Detroit MI., four daughters Mrs. Flippo, Florence, Mrs. Bogus, Atlanta Ga., Mrs. Phillips, Mrs. Jeff Phillips Detroit, one sister Mrs. Wesson Florence, 45 grandchildren 13 great-grandchildren.
