"Mrs. Benson Dead -- Sarah Helton was born in North Carolina, Oct. 30th, 1826, departed this life April 23, 1903, aged 76 years, 5 months and 23 days. She was married to Isaac Ben son October 2nd, 1846. To this union were born fourteen children, five of whom preceded her to the glory world. She spent most of her life in the service of the Master. Her last testimony was that the same Jesus who was her friend in life did not forsake her in death. Funeral services were held at the M. E. Church Saturday at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. W. T. banner, after which the remains were followed by a large concourse of friends to Elmdale cemetery, their final resting place."
