Funeral: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church.
VANCLEAVE --- Gertrude Stinson Carter, 83, died Sunday, Nov. 26, 2000, in Vancleave.
Mrs. Carter was born March 29, 1917, and was a lifelong resident of Vancleave. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church where she was a member of the United Methodist Women's Organization.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Abert Hall; her second husband, Bruner Carlton "Buck" Carter; her parents, Lee and Elizabeth Stinson; a brother, James Lewis Stinson Sr.; and a sister, Ruth Gardner.

Survivors include a daughter, Angela King of Ocean Springs; a (grand)son, Bennie R. "Bud" King Jr. of Vancleave; two brothers, Ralph Stinson of Purvis and Hurbert Wayne Stinson of Vancleave; seven sisters, Willie Bell Walley of Pascagoula, Mae Lee Patrick and Ruby Odom, both of Escatawpa, Emma Bozied and Mary Marigliano, both of Biloxi, and Dorothy Jay and Mary Clark, both of Vancleave; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

A service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church where friends may call one hour before service time. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point is in charge of arrangements.
