Rev. Claudius Gustavus Curtiss was the son of Capt Gilbert Wood and Sarah "Sally" (Todd) Curtiss. He was the husband of Ruth W. (Bramble) Curtiss. They were married Dec 24, 1845 and Ruth died September 23, 1903. Rev. Curtiss was a minister in the Wesleyan Church of Canada and Evangelical Association. He was also a minister in the Methodist Episcopal Church: East Genesee Conference on credentials from Evangelical Association 1868 Genesee (now Western New York) Conference by change of boundaries 1872 East Genesee Conference at reorganization and to Genesee Conference by consolidation 1876.
