William M. Brown
William M. BROWN, 87, 415 West Third street, died at 4:40 a.m. today at the Rochester nursing home. Mr. Brown had been a patient there since Dec. 27, 1958, after suffering a stroke in March of 1957.
A lifelong rsident of Rochester, he was born here Nov. 23, 1871, the son of Angus and Lucy CHINN BROWN. He was married twice, the first time to Nellie Mae OWENS on Oct. 29, 1892. She died Feb. 13, 1936, and on Oct. 9, 1937, he was married to Bertha M. ALSPACH. The second Mrs. Brown died March 24, 1953.
Mr. Brown was retired. He was a member of the Christian church and the Knights of Pythias.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Charles (Georgie) NAVLICK, 415 West Third street; two step-sons, Louis ALSPACH, Rochester, and John R. ALSPACH, Sturgis, Mich.; several nieces and nephews, and a step-grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home by the Rev. C. A. UNDERWOOD. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today.
