Hon. William Badger, Esq. Stone inscription: Born Jan. 13, 1779 Died Sept. 21, 1852 He was honored by public offices, viz: Aid de Camp to Gov. Langdon in 1807. Representative in 1810, '11 & '12. Senator in 1814, '15 & Pres. of the senate in 1816. Justice of the Court of Com. Pleas. in 1816 to '21. High Sheriff 10 years. Gov. of this state 1834 & 1835. Elector of Pres. & Vice Pres. in 1824, '36 & '44. Trustee of Gilmanton Acad'y from 1804, & Pres. of the Board 11 years. His last days were spent in reading and meditation. "I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live."
