He married Hilda Lydia Glenn Duff on August 24, 1940, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
He married Marie Endresen Ginty on August 14, 1980 in Malvern, Chester County, Pa.

He was buried in the family plot of his second wife Marie E. Ginty Duff.

He was buried during the terrible ice / snow storms of January 1994.

He supposedly was born in a rare April snowstorm as his mother related to family.

He was a drummer all his life, but worked at it part time after his full time emplyment at Sharpe & Dohme Pharmaceutical Co. which merged and became Merk & Co..
He retired from Merk after working 52 years as director of the narcotics department , and printed components department.
He met his second wife who was also an employee at Merk.

During the 1950s he was chosen as Scoutmaster of Troop 251 boy scouts in Fox Chase Pa. He believed in camping for scouting, and began the "once a month" camping trip every month of the year tradition of the troop. There were many memorable winter camping trips in deep snow and freezing conditions, and one time in a blizzard that they needed extra days to be dug out so they could come home. One month every summer was spent at Heart Scout Reservation where he was elected to join the "Order of the Arrow".

After retirement he took up carpentry and furniture making. He made nicely finished furniture as gifts for everyone using techniques practiced by fine furniture makers, and was known for his attention to authentic detail.
He also took up vegetable gardening and gourmet cooking. His specialty was salmon, shrimp scampi, and the best beef demi-glace ever.
He was still planning menues at the time of his death.
He was survived by his only son Earl Austin Duff 111 , and second wife Marie and two step daughters June & Joyce Ginty, and by his sisters Claire Duff May & Lois Duff Heimsoth.
