Gwendolyn M. Pella, 79, of 1426 Johnston Ave., Kittanning, died Wednesday, May 27, 1998 at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital, East Franklin Township. She was born Aug. 10, 1918 in Kittanning to Roscoe and Myrtle (Lasher) Wolfe. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Kittanning. She was retired from the dietary department of Armstrong County Memorial Hospital. She was a volunteer for the Salvation Army and was a member of the Golden Agers of the Salvation Army. She was also a member of the Kit-Han-Ne Rock & Gem Club. She worked with the Armstrong County Literacy Reading Program. Survivors include two sons, Charles A. Pella of Kittanning, with whom she made her home, and John L. Pella of Kittanning; one daughter, Diana Lynn Pella of Kittanning; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jack Wolfe of East Palestine, Ohio and Ronald Wolfe of Mauldin, S.C.; one sister, Ruth Skinner of East Palestine; three step-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, August A. Pella, who died July 9, 1996; and one grandson. PELLA - Friends of Gwendolyn M. Pella, 79, of 1426 Johnston Ave., Kittanning, who died Wednesday, May 27, 1998, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning, A Forethought Member, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday with Rev. Richard Molgaard, pastor of the Wilson Avenue Church of God, officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. The family suggest memorial contributions be made to the Orphans of the, Storm. Arrangements by Snyder-Crissman.
