He was retired from Branchland Supply Company, a member of the Freewill Baptist Church and a veteran of World War I. Surviving are his wife, Ora Preston VanHoose; one son, Leo Ottis VanHoose of Cincinnati, OH; one daughter,
Lettrice Joy Conley of Paintsville; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral services held Wednesday, May 30 in Paintsville funeral Home Chapel with Bob Benson and James K. Caudill officiating. Burial in Preston Cemetery at Tutor Key.
