Charles Steinbrink

ELWOOD - Services for Charles F. Steinbrink, 73, of Elwood, who died Sunday, March 11, 1990, at a Cozad nursing home, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church in Elwood.

Burial will be in the Elwood Cemetery with graveside military rites. The Rev. Roger Gillming will officiate. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. today at the First United Methodist Church in Elwood. A memorial has been established to the church. Clark-Berryman Funeral Home of Elwood is in charge of arrangements.

Steinbrink was born Jan. 31, 1917, at Elwood to Fredrick and Phoebe (Lewis) Steinbrink. He was raised on a farm northwest of Elwood and attended rural school. He served in the U.S. Army from 1941 to 1945. He married Delores Dunbar on May 23, 1946. He was employed by the Nebraska Department of Roads and later by Central Nebraska Public Power. He retired in 1979.

He was a member of the church and the Pheiffer-Morgan American Legion Post No. 290 in Elwood and had served on the Elwood Volunteer Fire Department.

Survivors include his wife of Elwood, daughter Charlene Remmenga of Elwood; brothers, Leo of Elwood and Earl of Sun City, Calif.; and sisters, Abbie Dreher of Elwood, Elda Burch of North Platte and Velma Steinbrink of Hastings. He was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.
