On Christmas Eve, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Dilts, Rt. 2, Ada, will celebrate 50 years of
married life. Flo Wingate and Ed Dilts were married Dec. 24, 1912 at the Ada
First Presbyterian Church. Vows were exchanged before the officiating minister,
the late Rev. C. B. Beckes.
Recently, their four children held open house for their parents at the Phi Mu
Delta Fraternity house on South Main. Mrs. Dilts has been house mother there
for many years. Holiday decorations were predominate rather than the golden
wedding theme. About 200 persons called during the afternoon to extend
congratulations. A special guest was Flo's sister, Mrs. Clara Kurdts, Ada, who
was an attendant at the wedding.
Mrs. Dilts was born in Hardin County, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Dustin
Wingate. Her living brothers and sisters are Mrs. Ruth Oyler, Crystal River,
Fla.; Mrs. Elva Laremore, Cambridge, Ind.; Mrs. Alice Klingler, Findlay; Mrs.
Eva Castle, Houston, Tex.; Mrs. Kurdts and Wilbur Wingate, Ada and Dustin
Wingate, North Baltimore.
Mr. Dilts is a son of the late Charles and Martha Dilts of Somerset. Mrs. Jess
Clum, Rt. 2, Ada, Mrs. Della Mautz, Somerset, Mrs. Alice Miller, Rushville and
Raymond Dilts, Lewistown, Ill., are his sisters and brother.
The Dilts' children, all of whom were present and planned the celebration are
Mrs. Betty Moser, Wren; Mrs. Madge Van Scoit, Upper Sandusky; Charles and
Robert, both of Ada. There are 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A
daughter, Mae, is deceased.
Mr. and Mrs. Ed Dilts owned and operated Dilts Dry Cleaners for several years.
Previously to that, they resided on a farm.
