Christine Munro Bentley died on Tuesday, August 20, 2009 in Midland, Michigan. She was born on January 12, 1912 to Christina Munro and Alexander Oldman Bowman of Aberdeen Scotland.

As a young girl she came to the United States with her family via Ellis Island in May of 1920 and later became an American citizen. She married Harold Arthur Bentley on June 19, 1936 in Battle Creek, Michigan. Christine attended Battle Creek Central High School. She was a long time member of the First Presbyterian Church in Battle Creek and joined the Chapel Lane Presbyterian Church when she came to live in Midland. She worked in the office at Olivers Farm Implement Company, Post Cereal Division of General Foods and American Pump Company, all in Battle Creek.

Christine enjoyed spending time with her Grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. She loved her flower gardens, music, dancing, knitting, crocheting and reading.

Preceding her in death is her husband Harold Bentley in 1986, brothers Alexander (Alex) Bowman and George Wilson Bowman and sister Isabell Foulds. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Keith Mead of Midland, her grandchildren, Brenda (Dylan) Casey of Crownsville, Maryland and Kimberly Mead of Midland, Michigan and great-grandchildren, Simon, Liam, Sarah and Hannah.

Christine's family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Brittany Manor for the kind and loving care she received.

A Funeral Service will be held at Chapel Lane Presbyterian Church, 5501 Jefferson Ave. Midland on Tuesday, August 25 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend David Young officiating. The family will receive friends at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Entombment will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery in Battle Creek at a later date.
