Sarah E. Park was the third wife of James Marion Armistead, married on June 18, 1922
When she was young, she had a high fever from an illness and suffered some form of brain damage.
Printed in a Franklin County Tribune on April 6, 1900:
"Miss Sarah Park, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eli Park, of Champion City was declared insane in the county court last Monday and sent to the State Insane Asylum at Fulton. The unfortunate lady, who is above mentioned, was taken several months ago with some kind of a fever, when she recovered her mind had gone. Sheriff Puchta and her father took her to the asylum Monday night. Mr. Park wishes us to express his and his family's most earnst and sincere thanks to their neighbors and friends for their kindness and attentions during their long trouble."
