Sister was the daughter of Oliva and Rose Anna (Berard) Fontaine. She held a B.A. degree from Anna Maria College, Paxton, MA. and an M.A. degree from Providence College, Providence, RI. She entered the novitiate in Lachine, Quebec, in 1937, and pronounced her religious vows in 1939. Her first assignments were in Quebec where she taught for eight years. Upon returning to the United States, she taught in the parish schools in Easthampton, Holyoke, Worcester, Ware, Webster, MA; and in Central Falls and Manville, RI; and served as a receptionist in Marlborough, MA and in Victoria, B.C., Canada.
Sister is survived by her sister, Ms. Flore Fontaine of North Smithfield, RI; and her sister-in-law Nola Fontaine of Charlestown, RI. Her nieces Doris McElroy, Lynn Hanrahan, Therese Ormand, and nephews Gerard Fontaine and Raymond Ross.
