Bobbie L. Dean Sr., 67, 212 N. Picher, Joplin, died at 5:08 a.m. Thursday at Oak Hill Hospital after a long illness.
Mr. Dean was bom Dec. 26, 1926, at Morrisville. He lived in Joplin most of his life. He retired in 1983 as a foreman for Eagle-Picher Industries, Joplin, where he worked for 38 years. He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church, Joplin, where he served as a trustee and Sunday school teacher.
He married Mary Beck on Feb. 15, 1953, m Joplin. She survives.
Additional survivors include a son, Bobbie Dean Jr., Joplin; three daughters, Sondra Dean, and Marsha Layton, both of Joplin, and Terrie Dean, Denver, Colo.; a brother, Thomas E. Mawhiney, Pleasant Hope; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery, Joplin. The Rev. John Newberry will officiate. Burial is under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary, Joplin. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary. Contribution may be made to the Bethel Bapt st Church building fund, 1125 Waggoner, Joplin.
